Business Skills category is for those who has a demonstrated record of business or investment activity who are committed to use their business or investment skill over in Australia.

Business Owner (State Sponsored)

This class of visa is for those ages less than 55 years and do not meet the financial thresholds of the Business Owner class. Applicant must apply and approved for sponsorship with one of the participating State or Territory Governments.

To qualify for the state sponsored provisional visa, applicant must meet the following criteria:

• 51 per cent where the business turnover is less than AUD400 000
  or
  30 per cent where the business turnover is AUD400 000 or more
  or

  10 per cent where the business is a publicly listed company  

• in at least 2 of the 4 fiscal years immediately before applying 
• Must be less than 55 years of age and possess total personal and business assets of at least A$500,000 plus sufficient assets available to settle in Australia. In addition, it is necessary to reside in your nominated state for 4 years in order to be approved for a permanent residence visa

Business Owner

This class of visa is for those who own and operate a business and possess total assets of A$800,000. Under this class of visa, the process is essentially divided into 2 stages: Provisional (4 years) and then Permanent.

To qualify for the provisional visa, applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Possesses net assets of at least A$200,000 in a qualifying business with an annual turnover of at least :
  51 per cent where the business turnover is less than AUD400 000 or
  30 per cent where the business turnover is AUD400 000 or more or

  10 per cent where the business is a publicly listed company  in at least 2 of the 4 fiscal years immediately before applying

• Must be under 45 years of age
• Has past relevant management experience and overall a successful business career
• Has commitment to maintain an ownership interest in a business in Australia with direct  and continuous involvement in the management of the business

To qualify for the permanent residence, applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Has carried out your intention to take up an ownership interest in a qualifying Australian business 
• Possesses net assets of A$100,000 in that business, a turnover of at least A$300,000 and overall net personal and business assets in Australia of at least A$250,000 for the 12 months immediately before applying
• Throughout the 12 months immediately before applying, your Australian business has at least the equivalent of 2 full-time employees who are either Australian citizens, Australian PRs, New Zealand passport holders or not members of your family

Investor

This class of visa allows for a 4 years provisional to be granted, after which time a permanent visa can be applied for once investment criteria has been met.

To qualify for the provisional visa, applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Possessed a net worth of A$2,250,000 for at least 2 fiscal years immediately before applying. Of this amount, applicant must be prepared to invest A$1,500,000 into Australian state treasury bonds for at least 4 years. The investment is Government guaranteed and interest is paid on the investment
• Must be less than 45 years of age
• Must have owned and managed a business or had a direct involvement in managing eligible investments and are required to meet a range of financial/ownership thresholds

Investor (State Sponsored)

This class of visa is for those ages less than 55 years and do not meet the financial thresholds of the Investor class. Applicant must apply and approved for sponsorship with one of the participating State or Territory Governments.

To qualify for the state sponsored provisional visa, applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Possesses a lower net worth of A$1,125,000 of which A$750,000 must be invested for 4 years
• Under this option, it is necessary to remain in your nominated stated for 4 years in order to be approved for a permanent residence visa

Senior Executive

To qualify for the provisional visa, applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Has occupied a position in the 3 highest levels of the management structure of a major business in which you were responsible for strategic policy development affecting a major component or a wide range of operations that major business for at least 2 of the 4 fiscal years immediately before applying
• Possesses a total assets net worth of at least A$800,000 and sufficient assets available to settle in Australia
• Must be less than 45 years of age

Senior Executive (State Sponsored)

Applicant must apply and approved for sponsorship with one of the participating State or Territory Governments.

To qualify for the state sponsored provisional visa, applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Has occupied a position in the 3 highest levels of the management structure of a major business in which you were responsible for strategic policy development affecting a major component or a wide range of operations that major business for at least 2 of the 4 fiscal years immediately before applying
