


| Changes to the Australian Government’s requirements for the General Skilled Migration program mean that, from 1 January 2010, the assessment process for generalist occupations will be broadened to include employment history as well as qualifications. This will give a better picture of an applicant’s work capabilities and will ensure that, when they arrive in Australia, they will have a higher standard of job-readiness. In turn, this will have a positive impact on critical areas of skill shortage. VETASSESS undertakes assessments for over 200 generalist occupations for people applying to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration and Employer Nomination Schemes.
