You are also required to satisfy certain health and character requirements in order to meet the visa criteria. In order to qualify for a Working Holiday Visa, applicants must hold a passport from one of the following countries:

The Working Holiday visa is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of first entry, regardless of whether or not you spend the whole time in Australia.You are permitted to leave and re-enter Australia any number of times during the validity period of the visa.
You are permitted to work for up with 6 months with each employer and undertake up to 4 months of study or training. It may also be possible to apply for another 12 months Working Holiday visa if you have completed at least 3 months of seasonal work in regional Australia.
